Is 7th Grade Middle School?

In the United States seventh grade is a middle school grade. Along with seventh grade the other grades that are considered middle school are eighth and usually sixth grade. These grades are also referred to as junior high. Students in seventh grade are either 12 or 13 years old.

It is considered middle school but in some school districts throughout the United States it is also called a junior high grade.

Junior high and middle school are the same grade levels.

Some school districts prefer calling the grades 7 and 8 (and usually 6th) junior high instead of middle school. Don’t let that confuse you though, middle schools and junior highs are the same thing.

I teach at an Illinois middle school where we have grades six, seven, and eight in the same building.

One town over in a different school district the school with the exact same grades are called a junior high.

Same thing though.

What Is After Middle School?

After middle school is high school.

Once eighth grade is completed then the first year of high school, ninth grade begins.

High school are grade 9 to 12, I explain more about high school in this article I wrote.
